Guess is an American clothing brand and retailer, notable for its black-and-white ads. It began in 1981 as a book of styles started by Georges, Maurice, Armand, and Paul Marciano. Shortly after that the brothers switched to selling jeans with a light, form-fitting denim and zippers at the ankles. Today Guess is offering licensed products, including watches, eyewear, jewelry, perfumes, bags and shoes.

Cessily is one of the brand’s most recognizable bags. Every season there is a huge selection of Cessily bags in all kinds of colours and materials. I, personally, am a huge fan of the model, and was really confused by this variety. In the end, I decided to get the black quilted model first, since it's the most versatile one, but as you might imagine I didn't stop there. More about that later..

In today's post, I’m going to take you through all the detailed features of the bag, my first impressions and why this treasure belongs in my collection (and whether it should belong in yours too)!

As I mentioned before, one of my favourite things about Guess’ Cessily crossbody bag is its versatility. It is youthful and urban yet elegant, which makes it the perfect companion for any occasion you may encounter on your day. You can wear it to work, run errands or attend an event, and it will look appropriate every time. Although I am becoming a fan of colourful handbags, nothing beats the utility of a black leather bag. I love how the gold chain and hardware add distinction to the bag without making it too flashy and the comfort when I carry it around. It already has a spot in my collection and is definitely going to be seen a lot on the blog and my Instagram profile.

What do you think of the Guess Cessily Quilted bag?

I love bags, and I know a lot of you do, too. They’re the accessory that we never leave home without - they carry our lives and we rely on them much more than we admit. We’re constantly making a conscious decision between function or fashion when it comes to handbags. So, when I decided to buy my first ever designer bag, it was definitely a tough decision. I wanted a city fashion bag which is at the same time suitable for everyday use not only for special occasions. And even though I have more bags on my wishlist than I would like to admit, I finally made my mind and chose the RUE ST-GUILLAUME BUCKET BAG by Karl Lagerfeld.

(If you follow me for a while, you know that my First Designer Purchase ever was a Karl Lagerfeld wallet.)

I knew this was the bag where I could really have it all! I no longer have to choose between function or fashion, instead I can have both and it’s all wrapped up in one beautifully made handbag. It is black, so it goes perfectly well with most of the clothes in my wardrobe, and yet chic enough thanks to its playful design. The versatility of the bucket bag is guaranteed thanks to the optional shoulder strap and the famous logo is that little something that really made the bag feel extra special to me.

A fashionable bag in a new shape adds playful lines to chic or casual looks.

I have to say, I’m obsessed! I haven’t stopped using it since it arrived. It’s the perfect everyday size bag - not too small but not too big either, with just enough room to store my daily essentials. It fits all you need without being heavy, my camera, wallet, phone, and little beauty stuff. I am sure I would carry it for all sorts of occasions  - day or night, and I think that it goes perfectly well with dressier looks as well as with more casual outfits and even sneakers, because of its cool vibe and monochrome accents.

Bag - Karl Lagerfeld / Sweater - H&M / Jeans - Tally Weijl / Boots - Pull&Bear

Have you ever been curious about what someone carries in their handbag? I find it so funny that we're all pretty interested in taking peeks inside people's lives.
When I started thinking of making this kind of blogpost, I wondered which bag in particular to use for it since I'm switching between my bags on a daily basis. On most working days I'm carring with me some sort of a backpack because I need more things when at work or out and about doing everyday errands. But on weekend days and when going out I'm opting for more structured bags. One of my favourite bags is this striped Zara bag. When I bought it a few years ago I  could hardly have guessed that it would be so versatile and functional. The black and white print goes well with a lot of looks and I always get a lot of compliments when I wear it.

Now for what I carry inside…

Wallet

We all have one of these in our purses, don’t we? You could read more about mine in this post, where I'm sharing how I decided to invest more money in a designer piece. Eventually, it turns out that it goes perfectly with my Zara bag due to the black and white colour palette which happened to be the perfect coincidence.

iPHONE

Obviously! I have been with my 5S for a couple of years, but still could not decide to upgrade it since I'm so pleased with its design and the moderate size.

iPAD

Not always with me but when I'm travelling and I would need a computer but don't want to bring with me the laptop. This iPad is small and lightweight, perfect for carrying it with me when necessary.

Make-up

Since I'm wearing make-up on a daily basis I always have in me some make-up products to make touch-ups when on the go. One of my most used products are mascaras (obsessed with the BADgal BANG by Benefit) and lip balms ( current favourites are these Panda and Cat ones from 183 days by Trend It Up).

Sunglasses

You can always find a pair of sunglasses in my bag!  My all time favourites are cat-eye frames in all variations.

Keys

You can always find my keys with me. I love this Ancor keychain I bought a few years ago from H&M that reminds me of the sea every time I use my keys.

...

That’s it, loves! Let me know if you have a question or if you carry something essential in your handbag that I need to know about!!

Bag - Zara / Wallet - Karl Lagerfeld / Keychain - H&M / Mascara - Benefit / Lipbalms - 183 day by Trend It Up

This year I would become 30 year old.. With that in mind, I decided that it was about time to buy myself something designer to mark that special event in my life. To this point I have never ever purchased anything designer with the exception of my Pandora jewellery collection.
The thing I wanted the most was a designer handbag.. One bag in classic shape and in black colour maybe, so I could be able to wear it with most of the clothes in my wardrobe. And while I'm still browsing for that perfect luxury bag to indulge myself in October when my birthday actually is, I decided to look for a new wallet since that was what I really needed at the moment.
In the last couple of years I have bought several wallets but usually after few months they begun to wear out, including some not so cheap ones.. Also, I have pretty specific idea of what the perfect wallet looks like for me.
For some time I have had my eye on the personal brand of Karl Lagerfeld. Even though the work he did for Chanel was one of a kind, I simply could not afford any Chanel products at the moment, but the items he created for the Karl brand were something quite different and way more affordable. I am eyeing a couple more items by the brand but since I was in the search of a new wallet that was the category I was browsing the most. In the end, I did it, I bought my first ever designer wallet by Karl Lagerfeld. The intricate pattern and detail instantly grabbed my attention, but the most important thing was that this wallet has everything I wished for in an item like that. It's like dream come true!

My tips for if you’re thinking of investing in a new wallet, handbag, jacket or even in a pair of designer shoes, as these are the main types of clothing I would buy from premium brands, would be the following:

1. Decide on the type of leather or material you want. Textured leathers are far more durable and will not scratch and mark in the same way as a smooth or patent leather product. Does the product you like come in another texture or type of leather?

2. Go through your wardrobe and decide how many outfits the potential purchase will go with? If it won’t go with many pieces you own, perhaps you could opt for a more subtle colourway? If you could wear it with five outfits or more, then you might be onto a winner.

(In my case, I was quite desperated to find a wallet in this exact size, since it can fit in all of my handbags. In the past, when I used a regular size wallet I often struggled with that since my wallet couldn't fit in some smaller bags of mine. Another thing I really needed was a separate coin compartment that is on the back on the wallet and not inside of it.)

3. Do you have any items like it? If the answer is yes, do you really need it? If not, and you can imagine it will fill a gap in your wardrobe, then perfect!

4. Look around online for the best prices, as some places may be a tiny bit cheaper. I bought my from FashionDays, but there are plenty more retailers offering Karl Lagerfeld product both in Bulgaria and worldwide.

At the beginning of 2020 I made a huge closet clean-out and that's when I realized that I have a couple of handbag styles that I pretty much exclusively wear. We all have different budgets and ideas of what our needs are considering handbags and since everyone is different, of course, there are different handbags for every fashion-obsessed woman out there. But I have narrowed down 4 styles that I personally adore and think are essential for any woman's wardrobe. Continue reading if you wanna find out which they are..

Backpacks are so understated, they’re super versatile and are actually quite chic when you find one that’s as unique as this floral one from Parfois. And even though in the colder months I'm usually wearing my black leather backpack almost on a daily basis, I'm always swooned over the different prints of the Parfois' backpacks. They launch every season at least a dozen little backpacks with the most extraordinary colour combinations, prints and even drawings. If you don't have a backpack yet, consider adding at least one to your wardrobe. Not only is a backpack super comfortable to wear all day long, but it also could be such a statement piece on its own.

Of course, a perfect wardrobe staple is the black quilted bag. I love how versatile this bag is. You can elevate a casual look with it, or you can even bring it along with you for more dressed up occasions. The size is also great - not too big, not too small. The chain strap is such a statement and you are bound to fall in love - and definitely, never regret investing in such a great handbag, even if it is not Chanel.

This Zara bag is a thing of dreams. This one particularly with its striped print, is a little less practical, so it’s definitely for the more adventurous shopper. It makes such a big statement, and people are guaranteed to talk about it every time you step out with it. At the same time, I think it’s also quite versatile - it goes so well with my blazers and coats during the colder months as well as with almost all of my summer dresses and skirts.

I know fringe was on trend a while ago, but I think it’s a classic detail that is here to stay. In my world, fringe is far from over, and should be embraced! It goes well with so many styles from feminine to edgy to boho, and can really bring some much-needed interest to a simple everyday look. In the warmer months especially that's the bag I'm reaching for the most. Also now is the time to shop when everything is on sale. I really can't decide between this and this bag from Zara Sale.

Would love to know which one is your favorite out of these picks ? And please share in the comments below what styles you think I should definitely add to my collection?
