A Modern Take On The Little Black Dress

I can feel spring on the horizon and this has definitely been playing into my recent outfits as of late. I am so eager to let go of the heavy layers and slowly transition into more delicate, softer pieces. Realistically, there is still a lingering chill in the air and light layering is still absolutely a must but I am slowly incorporating new trends into my wardrobe!
It’s pretty obvious that I wear black very often. It is a colour that I’m initially drawn to or gravitate towards on a daily basis, so it is no surprise that the classic and chic little black dress is an absolute must for me!
As I refreshed my wardrobe for the new season, I realised that even though I have more than enough black dresses it was still lacking a more modern take on this timeless piece of clothing. When I saw this H&M dress with big collar and puff sleeves, I knew it would create the right effect I was looking for – soft and romantic, simple, yet refined.

The puffy statement sleeve is still having its moment and the big collar too. So, it is normal that  I simply cannot seem to get enough of them! Statement sleeves definitely lean towards the more romantic, feminine side, so, naturally, I wanted to toughen up the look a bit to add some edge. What better way to do so than with some striking combat boots. I absolutely adore the effect of the girly dress with the stark booties.
Last year, I was lucky enough to snag these gorgeous tire boots from Bershka inspired by the Bottega Veneta iconic designs. That's a brand we all already know pretty well. For the last couple of seasons we adored its bags, its sandals, its boots and spotted them on every fashionista possible. So, naturally, a lot of my purchases are somewhat influenced by the brand and by the trends whether I like it or not. Do you remember this post from last summer when a lot of my accessories were also inspired by the iconic brand designs?

And lastly, as far as accessories are concerned, I added my Pandora jewellery and my new Karl Lagerfeld Bucket bag to finish off this romantic yet edgy Parisian look. Getting your hands on your first ever designer handbag is a special moment for every handbag lover. (If you missed the post, read more about it here.) Even though I have the Bag for a couple of weeks already, I still get very excited every time my eyes lay on it and quite literally jump with excitement when I have an opportunity to take it for a stroll outside.
