Ever the classic, I believe every girl should have a trench coat in her closet. But even though it is the epitome of timeless chic, that staple piece of clothing never made its way in my wardrobe up until now. Surprisingly, everytime I put on a beige trench coat and look myself in the mirror, I don't feel like myself and think that this neutral colour makes me look somewhat impersonal and kinda faceless.
This spring though, Stradivarius came with a range of classic trenches in a variety of beautiful hues. At first I was drawn to the pastel pink one, the one you see me wearing in today’s post, and I knew if I tried it on, I wouldn’t be able to walk away without it. It’s definitely a piece that I will have forever and while I plan on wearing it with nicer dresses for special occasions, it works just as well for everyday with jeans and a tee.
I didn’t stop there though.. Soon after that I bought myself two more trenches in the exact same model but in different colours - a baby blue one and a military green one. Can you blame a girl?
In case you haven’t noticed by now, I’m a little obsessed with hats. Probably because a hat is the one accessory that can really enhance an otherwise simple outfit. The right hat not only compliments fashion – it compliments a woman’s entire image, adding an extra level of sophistication, elegance and fun. If you follow me for a while, you know how much I like to wear captain hats (here, here and here) and wide-brim hats (here and here) throughout the year, adding a few straw hats in the summer months as well (here and here), but my newest obsession since this autum/winter is the beret. At first I bought myself a red one, more suitable for the holiday season and for the few occasions I pretended to be a French (haha) but after my newfound love for trenches I bought this pastel pink one to finish off the romantic look I already had in my head. Lastly, add an over-the-knee boots in timeless black, your favorite skinny yeans and Oh-là-là, you are ready for your next trip to Paris..
