Red is the new Black

Any time I leave the house during spring and summer, I have one of two accessories with me, if not both: a pair of sunglasses and a hat. Of course, a big reason for that is to protect my eyes and face from the sun, but coming in at a close second is how much I love completing an outfit with these pieces. They add style and personality to any look and always feel like just the right finishing touch, no matter where I'm going.

When shopping for sunglasses, I’m always drawn to vintage-inspired silhouettes, like the classic cat-eye. In the winter, I tend to opt for neutral and tortoise frames, but as soon as the weather warms up, I can’t get enough color in my sunglasses collection.
There are so many options to choose from, all of which have a slightly different vibe, but the vintage style of the oval shape has been my favorite for the last two years and they’ve become my go-to ever since. Not to mention that they are the IT sunglasses that every fashionsta on Instagram has at least one pair of.

I’m an all black everything kind of a girl, but red has taken over me last summer. Vintage-inspired red outfits were all over the internet for the last couple of years and I guess I couldn't say 'no' to this so classic-looking trend. I combined a breezy linen red dress with retro sunglasses in the same shade and a classic pair of white Converse sneakers. To make the outfit more casual and day-appropriate I added a vintage denim jacket that I found in my older sisters' closet. A classic denim jacket makes dressing for those in between seasons much easier. I especially love this particular one because of its more oversized fit - ideal for cooler temps so I can wear heavier layers underneath.

I got this simple summer-ready dress from H&M (similar here). But they have a handful of other gorgeous red dresses, both summery and more holiday appropriate. I really can't resist ordering this strappy one, which is also on sale right now!

Even though I loved wearing this dress while staying at a cabbin in the mountains, I can easily picture slipping into it for dinner after a long, leisurely day by the beach - the midi length is just right for a sunset walk in the sand. I’ll also be styling it with espadrilles or strappy sandals for an easy, elegant workday look.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the red colour and how you аrе styling it?
